The Centennial Celebration Committee planned the unique honor of celebrating the 100th birthday since incorporation as a city. This very exciting event followed the 1987 celebration of 100 years since the founding of Glendora.

The Centennial Celebration Committee was made up of representatives from the community’s service clubs, schools, colleges, community-based organizations, houses of worship, businesses, organizations and interested residents. The Glendora City Council is very appreciative of their efforts in planning events and sharing our very wonderful history as a community.

Special events and partnerships spanned the entire year to celebrate our city. Many of these events were with our community partners who have made such a difference in Glendora, and one of the prime reasons families speak so highly of the city and what it has to offer.

The kickoff event was on November 19, 2010 with the Annual Holiday Stroll in our Downtown Village put on by the Business Improvement District. Our Centennial Celebration concluded with an old fashioned family carnival and picnic at Pompei Park on November 5, 2011.
