Land Use Designation & Zoning Changes

Vermont SIM

On December 13, 2016, the City Council approved land use changes to properties near the future Gold Line Station.  Areas on the north of the railroad tracks were changed from a designation of Route 66 Specific Plan to residential.  The parking lot fronting Ada Avenue, south of the railroad tracks was changed from Route 66 Specific Plan to civic/institutional, which corresponds more appropriately with the medical facilities.  The second reading of Ordinance No. 2012, which changes the zoning of the area, occurred on January 10, 2017.

At the December meeting, the City Council also approved the residential project at the location of the former packing house.  The residential project involves construction of 40 detached single-family houses and realignment of the existing alley. The two-story houses, as shown above, range from 1,630 square feet to 1,766 square feet in size. The homes will have three or four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.

The drawing below is the conceptual landscape plan that shows the site layout and alley realignment.
