Customer Service

If you have a service problem with your cable service, you may contact them at the following numbers. Spectrum can be reached at 1-800-892-2253 and Verizon at 1-800-483-3000. Cable television regulations are established by the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. If you would like more information about legislation affecting cable television, the Federal Communications Commission website (http://www.fcc.gov/) has information including the text of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. During 2006, the California State Legislature enacted the Digital Infrastructure and Video Competition Act of 2006 (DIVCA). Effective January 1, 2007 state legislation preempted local authority to enter into Franchise Agreements with cable providers. Instead, this authority is vested with the California Public Utilities Commission. If you have questions about the State Franchise Agreement for either company we suggest you visit the CPUC website at www.cpuc.ca.gov.

Customer Services Standards
Under the State Law (DIVCA), municipalities are able to impose some minimal customer service standards. The City of Glendora has taken advantage of this opportunity, to the extent allowed by the California Public Utilities Commission, to establish certain standards. Those standards can be found under 5.24.602 of the Glendora Municipal Code. To view details of the Municipal Code section dealing with Customer Service Standards go to:  Glendora Municipal Code.
