Federal Government

Bureau of Labor Statistics

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the Department of Labor. This site includes the Consumer Price Index, Occupational Outlook Handbook, as well as other reports and labor data.

Fedworld

FedWorld was established by the National Technical Information Service (NTIS), an agency of the U.S. Dept of Commerce, to serve as the online locator service for comprehensive inventory of information disseminated by the Federal Government. 

GovSpot

Selective directory of links to local, state, federal, and world government information. It covers issues in the news, government employee job listings, pay tables, & more, and shortcuts for much needed information, such as tax forms, financial aid, postal rates, and passports. Internal Revenue Service

Thomas - Legislative Information on the Internet

A source of Federal legislative information on the internet, maintained by the Library of Congress. Can search bills by topic, by Congressional session, plus links to other government internet sites.

United States Census Bureau

Includes census information for both United States and worldwide, portions of the Statistical Abstract of the United States, the County and City Data Book, economic information for state, federal and local governments, current news, maps, and other geographic information. FTP files are also available to download.

United States Department of Homeland Security

Provides information about emergencies & disasters, travel & transportation, immigration & boarders, research & technology, threats & protection, as well as the Threat Advisory and more.

United States Government Printing Office

Includes access to the 1995-1996 Federal Register, searchable by subject, the United States Government Manual, searchable by keyword (results can be viewed or downloaded), Congressional Bills and Records, the History of Bills, House Calendar, and the United States Code.

United States House of Representatives

Lists the members of the House of Representatives, schedule of bills, resolutions, and other legislative issues the House intends to consider this week. Also includes up-to-date events on the House floor as they happen.

United States Institute of Peace

The United States Institute of Peace is an independent, nonpartisan institution established and funded by Congress.

California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

A government site that includes the California Vehicle Code, a sample driver test, and the California Driver Handbook in Spanish and English. Also full text of the Recreational Vehicles and Trailers Handbook and the Motorcycle Handbook. Forms and useful consumer brochures, as well as office locations are available.
