Beginning Saturday, May 1, the City of Glendora is launching a monthly news television show called “Go, Glendora!” This 20-30-minute program will be aired on KGLN Channel 3.

“Go, Glendora!” is a news-magazine style show about City events, activities, and projects, as told by the City’s project and event coordinators. In a fun and informative way, this show communicates what’s happening throughout Glendora.

Each story uses a play on words with the show’s title. For example, the inaugural episode includes a segment called “Go Green, Glendora!” This is about the highly-successful Earth Day held at City Hall on April 17. Dianne Walter of the Planning Department highlights the event activities.

Another segment is “Go Read, Glendora!,” featuring Senior Librarian Cindy Romero talking about the Library’s recent bookmark contest. This first show also includes a “Go Learn, Glendora!” segment about the Library’s Great Trivia Challenge event featuring Library Director Robin Weed-Brown.

Other events such as Easter Eggstravaganza and Trails Day were featured on the show as “Go Play, Glendora!” and “Go Explore, Glendora!” segments, respectively.

In addition to events, future shows will highlight information on pet safety and water conservation in fun segments called “Go Furry, Glendora!” and “Go Conserve, Glendora!”

“Go, Glendora!” is produced by internal City staff with existing equipment so this program was created at no cost.

It will air immediately prior to City Council meetings and at various times throughout the KGLN programming schedule. Future plans call for streaming the show, along with all KGLN programming, over the Internet on the City’s website. “Go, Glendora!” will also be uploaded onto the City’s Facebook page at
