Glendora Centennial Celebration

Centennial LogoNovember 13, 1911 --- Glendora Centennial Celebration --- November 13, 2011

The Centennial Celebration Committee has been meeting to plan for this unique honor-- celebrating the 100th birthday since incorporation as a city. This very exciting event follows the 1987 celebration of 100 years since the founding of Glendora.

The Centennial Celebration Committee is made up of representatives from the community’s service clubs, schools, colleges, community-based organizations, houses of worship, businesses, organizations and interested residents. The Glendora City Council is very appreciative of their efforts in planning events and sharing our very wonderful history as a community.

Over the next 12 months there are many planned special events and partnerships to celebrate our cityhood. Many of these events are with our community partners who have made such a difference in Glendora, and one of the prime reasons families speak so highly of the city and what it has to offer.

The kickoff event will be on November 19, 2010 with the Annual Holiday Stroll in our Downtown Village put on by the Business Improvement District. Our Centennial Celebration will conclude with an old fashioned family carnival and picnic at Pompei Park on November 5, 2011.

You can follow the celebration and see what events are occurring through this website, facebook, Channel 3 and the Glendora Report . The Mayor and City Council encourage the residents, businesses and community friends to partake in this unique and wonderful time.
